Statement

"My love for art began in my childhood years in the
1980’s.  Followed and guided by 10 years of art
education in Russia my works are my life. Currently
inspired by the beauty of the United States my
creations come alive through oil on canvas  medium
developed with various fine soft brushes and palette
tools.  California’s landscapes, historic places,
nature, and great people are all my art subjects.
With each painting I learn more about the beautiful
details of California and the United States.

Through my eyes I capture these amazing images
via a digital photograph,    grasping the magic of the
sun light, image colors, and shadows.  The images
are selected and my work begins drawing
perspective and outline to the canvas.  Close ups
photos may be taken that aid my painting detail.
Most of the time I like to see these photo on a
computer monitor from which I paint from, but I
don't copy the picture exactly.  I play with colors,
enlarging or combining images  always adjusting
aspects of the photo until it approximates what I
feel at the scene.
Each painting is a new invention for me.
I want share the beautiful world around us through
my art as a Window to that beautiful place that you
will always keep opened wherever you may be"
